PoCoG SAC Open Call for Nomination

The deadline for nominations has now passed.

PoCoG is now calling for expressions of interest for two ordinary SAC members and one early career researcher (ECR) to join the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) for a three-year term.

The SAC is responsible for setting PoCoG’s strategic and scientific direction and priorities and ensuring that these are in line with Cancer Australia principles and key performance indicators, development of PoCoG initiated research activities, reviewing and providing constructive feedback on proposals for PoCoG involvement in research and taking part in the ongoing review of PoCoG studies to ensure their scientific rigour or maintenance of minimal research quality standards.

The purpose of recruiting ECRs to the SAC is to provide an opportunity for these members to develop leadership skills by participating in PoCoG governance and to ensure ECRs have a say in SAC activities. ECRs also have an important role in assisting the SAC with the development and implementation of support for early career PoCoG members.

Important:

  • Applications are due by 5pm (AEST) 11 September 2024.

  • More information including instructions on submitting an expression of interest is available here. An expression of interest requires a completed nomination form and a brief biography/CV to be sent to Joanne Shaw

  • Self-nominations are permitted; however, nominees must be PoCoG members and nominations must be seconded by a PoCoG member.

  • A selection panel comprised of members of the PoCoG Management Team and current members of the SAC will review the applications.

  • Successful members will commence their three-year term on the SAC as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about the nomination or selection process, or about the expectations of Scientific Advisory Committee members, please do not hesitate to contact PoCoG Executive Director A/Prof Joanne Shaw.
