Resources to support people living with cancer and their carers
PoCoG is a research organisation and as such we do not provide counselling services to patients and their carers. However, there are many organisations in Australia that do provide these services and we have listed some of these below.
Helpline - Call 13 11 20
Cancer Council Australia provides general information about cancer and cancer treatment as well as links to Cancer councils in your state or territory.
Cancer Council NSW provides a list of useful resources for patients and their families. The resources include a helpline, peer support, support groups, information booklets, cancer information in other languages and more.
Other Cancer Councils
Provides a section for patients and families which includes a directory of cancer support groups in NSW.
The Australian organisation for young people living with cancer.
A resource that provides relevant and trustworthy information and resources about palliative care.
Information about a variety of different cancers, including breast, lung and prostate cancer
